JAMMU, June 19: A youth died today due to alleged drug overdose in Sidhra area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the deceased was identified as Riyaz Ahmed (22) son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Chowadi. He said today afternoon Riyaz was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu in unconscious condition by one of his cousin but doctors there declared him as brought dead.
“The deceased was a drug addict and had already spent time in drug & rehabilitation centre some years back”, he said, adding, after getting conducted postmortem the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
He said Sidhra police had taken cognizance of the matter.
