Youth dies of alleged drugs overdose

JAMMU, Sept 23: A 26-year-old youth today died due to alleged overdose of drugs in Peer Kho area falling within the jurisdiction of police station Peer Mitha.
According to a police spokesman, the deceased identified as Tarsem (26) son of Ramesh Kumar, resident of Talab Tillo, had gone to celebrate his birthday with some of his friends last night during which they took liquor as well as drugs.
“They did party for whole night and when one of them started dropping other friends to their respective residences in the wee hours of today, Tarsem fell unconscious”, the spokesman said, adding, his friends rushed him to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Peer Mitha and further investigations started.
