RAMNAGAR, Aug 29: Youth Congress activists led by State general secretary R S Pathania conducted an extensive tour of various rain hit villages.
The team visited Plater, Jagwal, Jansal, Neeli, Chor Panjian, Motu, Khabbal, Pandhar, Nagain, Kamtala, Babay and Khrara. and observed that a crisis-like situation was prevailing in areas of Ramnagar, Majalta and scores of villages where incessant rains have caused whopping losses to the persons and property.
Despite loud-and-clear announcements and packages made by the State Government as well as aerial visits of Chief Minister in Majalta and Ramnagar, relief measures are yet to appear on ground. People rendered shelter less in rains are basking in the open. Shattered roads, irrigation canals, bridal paths, power and fresh drinking water supply lines and other infrastructural systems are yet to be restored and repaired, observed the Youth Congress team.
Mr Pathania called upon the local administration to immediately embark on some crash measures with a view to mitigate the hardships of local people failing which he would be left with no option but to initiate a peoples’ movement in support of popular demands of the area.
Prominent among those who expressed similar sentiments with Mr Pathania included Sharan Singh, Mohan Lal, Kuldip Singh, Gayatri Devi, (all sarpanches), Ranjeet Singh, Pritam Singh, Ajeet Singh, Ram Chand, Romal Singh, Girdhari Lal, Chiman Lal, Major Singh, Abhimanyu, Madan Lal, Romesh Singh, Shukar Din and local leaders.
