JAMMU, May 26: As a national-wide Congress programme, the Pradesh Youth Congress activists held strong protest demonstration against complete failure of the BJP led NDA Government at the Centre to fulfill promises made with the people during 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
The PYC activists in large number, led by State president, Pranav Shagotra under the nationwide programme “Hissab Do, Jawab Do”, to mark three years of Narendra Modi Government, organised a rally from the Pradesh Congress headquarters Shahidi Chowk at 11 am. The PYC activists were raising slogans against Modi Govt and also burnt effigy. They took out their rally to various parts of old city here.
Police had tough time as Youth Congress activists’ held strong protest near BJP office at Kachi Chawni while passing through various parts of city.
The protest was held under the overall supervision of Dr Uma Shanker Pandey PYC Secy. Youth Congress activist from various parts of Jammu district attended the program.

Shouting slogans against Central Government for betraying the nation, PYC activists passed through various bazaars and localities. Braving scorching heat, hundreds of activists joined by large number of locals marched into the streets of the city amid shouting of slogans. As the activists marched near BJP office at Kacchi Chawni, they were stopped by the police from moving further after some scuffle.
Addressing the activists, Shagota said that NDA Government is taking credit of the projects which were started during UPA regime. “The only noticeable achievements of BJP led Government is inauguration of the projects-which were conceptualized and started during UPA regimes”, he said and pointed out that work on the bridge which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated today, was started during UPA regime.
He further said Chenani- Nashri tunnel, bridge at Basholi, Kerian-Gandyal bridge etc were started during UPA regime but the BJP leadership is shamelessly taking credit of these projects. He alleged that many Jammu centric projects including Tawi Artificial Lake have been abandoned by this Govt.
Uma Shanker Pandey said that three year tenure of BJP led NDA regime is only an era of unfulfilled promises because except lip services nothing has been done so far. He said that people of the nation are anxiously looking for bullet train, Rs 15 lakh in the account of every individual, 5 crore jobs, smart cities etc. He regretted that situation on the border was an example of the failure of the BJP led NDA regime on all fronts.
