JAMMU, Aug 7: A youth conference was organized today at Gujjar Desh Charitable Trust, Jammu.
Yogendra Yadav, founder member of Swaraj Abhiyan and Jai Kisaan Andolan was the chief guest and key note speaker of the conference.
Dr Masud Chaudhary, patron, Gujjar Desh Charitable Trust, in his welcome address highlighted the role of Yogendra Yadav in the upliftment of downtrodden sections of the society. Chairman of the Trust, Ch Ali Hussain Hakla along with Shaukat Javed and Mohd Rafiq Kohli presented memento to Yogendra Yadav.
The conference was organized by Rabinder Singh, PhD Research Scholar, JU to discuss about burning issues of the State. The emphasis was given on role of the youth to reduce trust gap between Kashmir and other parts of the country.
Yogendra Yadav stressed that youth has to play pivotal role in resolving the Kashmir issue. He appealed the youth presented in the conference to actively take part in building confidence in Kashmiri youth by taking some progressive measures through dialogue and by organizing workshops.
Yadav stressed the need for progressive minded youth to adopt a more grass root oriented strategy with a better understanding of local problems of the Kashmiri people so that their message can resonate with the masses.
ID Khajuria, member of Swaraj Abhiyan, said that both India and Pakistan should resolve Kashmir issue through bi-lateral talks. He further added that Kashmir issue cannot be resolved through violence. He also said that the mistrust between India and Pakistan must be reduced in order to resolve the Kashmir issue and to carry forward the peace process.
It was unanimously decided in the conference that peaceful dialogue process should be there and security forces should use maximum restrain to control the situation.
