JAMMU, July 18: DCC Jammu president, Vikram Malhotra today said that youth is affected by the rising unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir and drug abuse has further aggravated the problem.
He urged the Youth Congress members to work on socio-political issues for the betterment and welfare of youth of Jammu. Malhotra was speaking during a party programme during which Rahul Tandon, who was appointed as the Working president, District Youth Congress (U) took charge of his office.
Addressing the youth, Sandeep Singh Rissam (National coordinator, Indian Youth Congress) said that Congress party will soon work on a Youth Manifesto for the youth of J&K and work towards their empowerment in the State. He said that Congress is the only party which can work for the development of all the three regions of J&K.
Satish Sharma (former State vice-president, Youth Congress) asked the young leader Rahul Tandon to work for propagating the ideology of Congress party to all the young people who are being misguided by fake and false propaganda on social media. He asked the youth present to work at booth level to strengthen the Congress party.
Rahul Tandon, speaking on the occasion, said that youth of Jammu is still suffering due to anti-youth policies which were formed by the BJP Government. He said that Congress will form the next government in the State and will work with pro youth agenda.
Also present on the occasion were Corporators of Jammu Municipal Corporation– Pritam Singh, Dwarka Choudhary, Gaurav Chopra, Chanchal Popli and DCC members –Cameres David, Naresh Maini, JL Koul and Anu Bhagat.
