UDHAMPUR, Sept 7: In a tragic incident, a young boy drowned while crossing Ujh river at Khaned village in Basantgarh Sub Division of district Udhampur last evening.
The deceased youth was identified as Manzoor Ahmed (21), son of Abdul Rahman, resident of Chamalwas in district Ramban. He was working as labourer in the construction of road at Kadwah. After work, some workers left for their sheds and while crossing the river, one of them drowned.
The locals of the area started search operation and later fished out his body. The body was shifted to PHC Khaned. The police at Basantgarh has taken cognizance of the matter.
