JAMMU, Jan 7: Providing an opportunity to young artists/students to fashion their creative paintings and sculptures away from the hustle bustle and busy life of winter capital, the young artists’ camp held at Birpur, concluded today.
The seven-day camp, titled as Future Sculptors & Painters Camp, was organized by Ravinder Jamwal, the senior artist of the State, at his studio at Dhruv-Satya-The Atelier, Birpur, near Jammu. The camp ended with display of works created by eight young participants that was watched by steady stream of locals as well as artists and art aficionados from Jammu, including senior sculptor Rajendra Tikku, Arvind Gupta, U K Jalali, former Advocate General, K. K. Sharma, Director Floriculture and others.
Talking to Excelsior, Ravinder Jamwal said that purpose of organizing the camp was to provide a platform to the young and aspiring artists to come together and create works in an interactive atmosphere.
Those who participated in the camp that started from January 1, 2015, included Naresh Kumar, Tsering Gurmet, Mukesh Kumar, Kaneesh Panotra, Ashima Sharma, Divya Bandral, Rachita Dutta, and Rigzin Paljor.
