JAMMU, Sept 16: Provincial Joint general secretary, Youth National Conference (YNC) and Civil Society member district Kishtwar, Shamsher Singh Bhandari has expressed grave concern over the growing unemployment in the State in general and in the hilly districts of Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar in particular where the people have no avenues of employment also.
In a statement issued here, today he said the coalition Government has failed to tackle the growing unemployment issue in the State as in last three years it has not framed any policy to tackle the issue. Moreover it seems that the Government is not also bothered to take any concrete steps in this regard in future too.
He said though there is lot of potential of power generation in these districts but the work has not been started on the projects which were proposed on river Chenab which has led to unrest among unemployed youth.
He demanded that Pakal Dull, Kero and Kawar Hyddro electric projects be taken up in hand as early as possible.
He also demanded establishment of additional Divisional Commissioner’s Office some where in these three hilly districts as the erstwhile Doda district has 2/3rd area of Jammu province.
