JAMMU, Dec 11: “J&K Youth for Human Rights and Duties (YHRD)” in collaboration with Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi and Development And Justice Initiative (DAJI), organized a seminar at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nowabad, Jammu.
The key resource persons for the seminar were Zulker Nain, Advocate, High Court of J&K, Dr Monica Narang, Senior Assistant Prof, The Law School, University of Jammu, Mamta Thappa, Legal Protection Officer from Development And Justice Initiative (DAJI), New Delhi, Dr Seema Rohmetra, Senior Assistant Prof at The Law School, University of Jammu and coordinator, Gandhi Peace Foundation, Jammu Chapter, Dr Sapna K Sangra, Assistant Prof at Department of Sociology and Rajneesh Khajuria, Assistant Professor, The Law School.
The speakers made presentations on different aspects of the seminar and enlightened the students about the subject. Neelam Gupta, Principal of the school, presented the presidential address and appreciated the efforts of the organizations involved towards the noble cause of creating awareness among the students.
Students from The Law School enthusiastically and actively participated in the conduct and coordination of the seminar. Many students of The Law School, University of Jammu, namely Muzzaffar Ali, Amit Birdi, Ashish Manhas, Parkhi Parihar, Rajat Watel and Zainab Gazala Sheikh also spoke on the topic. Kritika Sethi, another Law School student presented a self composed poem on the topic.
The vote of thanks was given by Zainab and Gazala Sheikh and the whole event was conducted by Parkhi Parihar. Dr Seema Rohmetra and Muzaffar Ali coordinated with different authorities for the conduct of the seminar.
