Year-long celebrations of Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary to begin from Jan 12

JAMMU, Dec 16: In connection with year -long celebration of 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda a revolutionary saint of India a celebration Committee was constituted during a function at Geeta Bhawan here today.
Swami Girishanand Ji, secretary Rama Krishan Mission was the chief guest on the occasion and Brig (retd) Ravinder Singh presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion Swami Girishanand Ji said that Swami Vivekananda was not the pride of India but of entire world also. He said his message is accepted by entire world. He said Swami Ji’s message will continue to inspire the youth who not only highlighted the significance of India’s culture in the country but made the entire world admirer of the same.
His teachings are very important and relevant today and on the basis of same India will emerge as Vishaw Guru, he added.
The convener of the organizing committee Suresh Chander Gupta while speaking said the year -long celebrations of Swami Ji’s 150th birth anniversary will be held from January 12, 2013 to January 12, 2014 and it will be celebrated with great enthusiasm and charm.
He said the people of the country have resolved to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Ji with much fan fare.
On the occasion the Celebration Committee for the State was announced whose conveners will be Mahamandleshwar Rameshwar Dass Ji, Mahant Deviya Nand Giri Ji, Mahamandleshwar Ram Sarup Dass Ji, Swami Dr Jagpuran Dass Ji, Mahant Giri Ji, Swami Hardiya Nand Giri Ji and Swami Kumar Ji.
The Celebration Committee will be headed by Brig (retd) Ravinder Singh Jamwal while Dr Sudershan Mahajan, advocate Sham Sunder Nanda,  Dr Narinder Singh, Mrs Ansuya Khosa and Ranchin Shastri will be its vice presidents. Jugal Kishore will be secretary and Surinder Dhar will be joint secretary. Darshan Choudhary will be treasurer and Subash Chander will be co-treasurer.
The Samiti has chalked out a programme to take the message of Swami Ji to every household in the state during the year -long celebrations and on January 12 the year long programmes will be inaugurated at District headquarters with taking out of Shoba Yatra.
