KATHUA, Mar 29: The activists of Youth Congress under the leadership of Romi Sharma Assembly Youth Congress president of Hiranagar protested in front of DC Office here, today.
The protestors later submitted a memorandum to DC Kathua demanding supply of drinking water in Chhan Dityal of Chadwal Panchayat.
Addressing the protestors Romi Sharma said that a tube well bore has been excavated by the CGWD in 2011 and handed over to PHE Department for kind consideration and for public utilization. He said the tube well is defunct as it sans power connection.
He said despite many requests to concerned authorities no steps were taken in this regard till date with the result the population of over 5000 people was facing water scarcity.
He warned that in case the water supply was not provided to the area within 15 days the people will be forced to block NH.
