Yayavar’s clarion call for young readers and authors who write for them

In perpetuation of its two consecutively successful literary festivals Pan India in Jammu and Jalandhar, YAYAVAR team recoups its first ever online fest for young writers and readers.
Spear-headed by its founder Director Nupur Sandhu,YAYAVAR online lit-fest is articulately maneuvered format designed for the children from 2nd to class twelfth to establish kinship
between authors and readers. In the wake of contemporary scenario of lock down it was decided to transform this fest into online gala, contrary to its initial configuration thus
rendering a rich platform to the children with a soft spot for reading and writing. The two days fiesta has been scheduled for 22 and 23 April from 10am to 2pm which includes thoroughly shortlisted genres of books viz. mystery, horror, adventure, humour and motivational in the fictional and non-fictional categories. The 14 sessions of the lit-fest will include writers from Pan India namely Shivi Dua(Gurgaon), Manjari Prabhu(Pune) , Prasun Roy(Kolkata), Saurabh Thakur(Delhi), Abhirup Dhar(Mumbai), Maulshree Mahajan(Chennai), Yash Tiwari(Kanpur) and Story tellers , Payal Gupta, Jasleen Kour, Neetu Bhalla Brigadier Rajeev Manha.

As a prelude to the fest, reading of kindle version of the proposed books was suggested by Nupur Sandhu to the participating children who wrote analytical reviews on the same and shared them online. A Drawing activity including Children till 12yrs old was held on the theme of Nature and Friendship which received entries from across the country on which authors will weave the stories. An ultra creative mind behind this enterprise, Nupur Sandhu who herself is an well- acclaimed author and child psychologist says, ‘ Children are the reservoir of creativity who need proper channelization of their imagination . It is very important to know how these juvenile think . ’ YAYAVAR team with Creative Director Jasleen Kaur and Managing
Director Arush Mahajan, Advisor Shwetima Jamwal anticipates an overwhelming
participation and is hell bent on promoting readers and writers through such literary festivals. The kids are preparing thru zoom classes from their mentors for opening and closing ceremonies. We have young and vibrant Sophie Khurana, class 7th student of Pathways, Gurgaon. She will be presenting Bharatnatyam “Prabho Ganapathe” a song in praise of Lord Ganesha in opening ceremony. Anurag Jamwal class 12th student of AOC Hr Sec School Udhampur will sign off the first day of the festival. Aradhya Jain and Keshav Tiwari class 11th students of Doon School will perform at closing ceremony followed by the National Anthem by Avneet Kaur of DPS, Jammu and Mehak Dua.

This maiden online endeavour is conjectured to be an engaging and captivating event from the ennui of lock-down for school going children. globally. Students from Egypt, USA, Australia, Russia are participating enthusiastically. Tagore Literary Prize and Cremiean writers Association are supporting the festival. With Certificates to the authors and Tagore Literary Prize Gave 25 books of Kabir Doha in English tobe presented to the schools library.
