NEW DELHI, Oct 24: A seven member Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) delegation called on Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh here today sought the immediate intervention of Union Government in implementation of PM’s employment package for displaced youth with appointment of 221 over-aged youth also.
The delegation was led by YAIKS president R K Bhat. It was second meeting of the delegation with Union Home Minister in last three days after the members of the organization who had taken a rath yatra from Jammu to New Delhi were arrested by Parliament Street Police Station for taking out a procession.
The delegation threadbare discussed rehabilitation issue, employment package, grant of minority and Internally Displaced Status to displaced youth and enhancement of cash relief with Mr Singh in the meeting and expressed concern over the delaying tactics adopted in this regard.
The delegation demanded that the label of migrants be removed from the displaced Pandits and the community be settled by carving out three townships in North, Central and South Kashmir.
It also expressed concern that despite being recommended by various committees the displaced Pandits who are the miniscule minority have been deprived of both IDP and Minority status while no headway has been achieved on enhancement of cash relief despite announcement made by Union Government.
Bhat said that Mr Singh informed the delegation that all necessary steps will be taken in settling the issues and there will be no delay in this regard as present Government believes in quick disposal of cases and result oriented work.
He said Mr Singh assured that employment package will be implemented on war footing basis and no delaying tactics will be allowed in this regard.
Union Home Secretary, Anil Goswami and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
