JAMMU, May 21: Y V Sharma, spokesperson BJP J&K UT today castigated the Kashmir based politicians for issuing baseless highly communal, divisive and provoking statements to befool and instigate the innocent masses.
Addressing a press conference along with J&K BJP spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan and Media incharge, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra at party headquarter, Y. V. Sharma termed these statements highly provocative.
He referred to speech of an ex Chief Minister of J&K blaming the ruling dispensation of fostering hate and pitching communities against each other.
He said that having failed on every matrix, they pitch Kashmir against Jammu, Gujjars against Kashmiris and Paharis against Gujjars. He pointed out that perhaps he was reminded of such tactics of his grandfather, father and himself who ruled over the State in the most autocratic, undemocratic and unconstitutional manner and filled their own coffers by misusing the Articles 370 & 35A. They always indulged in discrimination to keep themselves in power. They always talked of Constitutional guarantees for themselves but denied all other sections of societies of these privileges and guarantees, he added.
Sharma said the abolition of 370 and 35A have unnerved them and they are perturbed because they are fully exposed. People have realized their game plan.
Ridiculing the statements of these leaders that promises of development and end of militancy after the abrogation of 370 and 35A are nowhere visible on ground, Sharma said that they should put off the coloured glasses of their vested interests and see the delight and jubilation of the common masses at the pace of the development post abrogation of 370 in 2019. Massive road connectivity, decentralization of powers to the local bodies and urban Corporation, opening of new colleges, elaborate infrastructure of health care, commissioning of AIIMS, IIMs, IIT and other institutions of higher learning, great boost to Tourism incentives to business and almost all sections of society. It’s surprising that in their pathological hatred for the PM they’ve closed their eyes to the rush of tourists to Kashmir where accommodation in hotels and”home-stays” is falling short of the massive demand.
Reacting to another allegation of Kashmir centric leaders regarding distributing land to outsiders, Sharma posed a question that on one hand they want investors to invest in J&K and create employment opportunities for the youth and development but on the other hand they are not ready to provide them land for the purpose.
To the question that if militancy has diminished why the targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits and non-locals are still continuing, Sharma held Kashmiri leaders responsible for it who are provoking the people that the non locals are occupying their lands, how will these targeted killings stop?
He said the Civil society of Kashmir should come forward and support the Government in weeding out terrorism and assured all support to them. He said BJP will facilitate their meetings with Government.
