World Pharmacist Day observed

JAMMU, Sept 25: Jammu Kashmir Govt Pharmacist Association, Jammu, observed World Pharmacist Day by organizing an impressive, function, here today under the chairmanship of Choudhary Jarnail Sing, Working President of the Association.
Chief guest of the programme was I D Khajuria, Pharmacist trade union leader, who formally inaugurated the function by lighting ceremonial lamp. He shared his valuable experiences with the participants and also extended best wishes to all Pharmacists of J&K hoping that they will continue serve the society with great zeal and passion.
This special day was established by International Pharmaceutical Federation. The theme of this year, developed by International Pharmaceutical Federation, is “Safe and effective medicines for all.” The theme of World Pharmacist Day emphasis that Pharmacists are a trusted source of knowledge and advice, not only for patient but for other healthcare professionals also. For every patient who walks into a pharmacy, pharmacists ensure that the right medicine is provided at the right dose. Every year three million Pharmacists around the world act as partner to patient.
The programme was also addressed by Ch Jarnail Singh (working president JKGPA), Kamal Jit Sawhney (Gen Secretary JKGPA), R P SINGH, Shafket Hussain, Bharat Bhushan, Pawan Kumar, Kuldeep, Tarsem Lal, Madan Lal, Vishal Patil, Dalip Choudhary, Vishwa Bandhu, Bahadur Singh Dogra and others. They highlighted the demands and issues of the Pharmacists and also appealed the State Government for implementation of Pharmacy Act in Jammu and Kashmir.
