JAMMU, Oct 7: The separate home land demand of Kashmiri Pandits took a further momentum today with World Brahmin Organisation vice president, Bhagwan Maneria openly supporting it at a meeting of Panun Kashmir (PK) held in New Dlehi today.
The meeting which was organised by PK and chaired by its president Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo took stock of the preparation of the programme to be organised in connection with the “J&K Vilay Divas’’ (Accession Day) on October 29 at New Delhi in which Bhagwan Maneria was the special guest.
Bhagwan Maneria, while speaking said that asking for homeland in Kashmir is the genuine demand of the displaced community and we have fully supported Panun Kashmir. “We will make it sure that the nationalist constituency in J & K is heard, taken on board and their grievances are redressed properly. The voice of P K, its website and activities at national and international level have made a historic impact on the minds of people and have also impacted the ground level political narrative. The changed narrative will be pursued with all commitment and determination, he added.
He was highly appreciative of the role played by the security forces in the State and in this connection he congratulated the Army, security forces and the J&K Police in particular. He expressed his organization’s full support to them and the families of the martyrs. There is a need of economic empowerment for the Brahmin community and the Government needs to take urgent steps in this direction. He said that “we have been entangled in vote bank politics and appeasement of various sections which has eaten into the roots of an equitable and justifiable development of the society at large.
Among others meeting was attended by Vijay Kashkari, Inder Krishen Zutshi, Ankur Raina, Mohit Raina, Vivek Kampassi and eminent artist Chushul Mahaldar. Bhagwan Maneria was specially honoured in the meeting in which activists of NCR of Delhi participated.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo in his address said that his organisation in collaboration with the World Brahmin Organisation will be creating a formidable socio-political initiative that will take care of our issues at a national and international level. There is a greater consciousness now about Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits. The change of narrative on Kashmir on a long term basis has to be the fundamental operative of the alliance, he added.
He said the ‘J&K Vilay Divas’ programme will focus on the agenda comprising the current Kashmir situation with a special reference to Rohangyas, the geo-political rights of Kashmiri Pandit indigenous people of Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India contributing towards the resilient India and the issues pertaining to the Brahmin community at national and international level.
He said as the original inhabitants of the J & K State, Kashmiri Pandits along with the Dogra community and the people of Ladakh want urgent abrogation of Art370 and 35A. In this connection, he appreciated the statement of RSS chief Dr Mohan Rao Bhagwat that Art370 need urgently to go.
