JAMMU, Oct 16: World Anesthesia Day was today celebrated with fervor at Govt Medical College Jammu where the meeting was presided over by Principal and Dean Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma who appreciated the role of Anesthesia Department in management of crtical ill patients especially during COVID pandemic.
Dr Samriti Gulati HoD Anesthesia also applauded the role of Anesthesiologists and paramedical staff for round the clock vigil of intensely sick patients. A presentation on History of anesthesia and newer inhalation agents was presented by Dr Vanya and Dr Supriya, Anesthesia PG students
Later in evening, a function was organized under the agesis of Indian Society of Anesthesiologists ISA (Jammu branch) wherein doctors from GMC Jammu ASCOMS ,NH Katra,DH Gandhi NAgar and GMC Kathua and other peripheral hospitals participated Dr Anita Vig Kohli, Secretary ISA Jammu branch welcomed the gathering and highlighted the theme of this year’s Anesthesia Day ‘Anesthesia and having a baby’ A presentation about latest covid guidelines was given by Dr Diskit
Dr Gurmeet Singh, president ISA Jammu read the annual report, Senior members of faculty Dr Sudershan Gupta and Dr Satya Dev were felicitated with Life Time achievement awards. New office bearers for the current year took charge from the previous team.
The new office bearers are President, Dr Anita Vig Kohli, Vice President, Dr Anjali Mehta, Secretary, Dr Rajesh Mahajan, treasurer, Dr Updesh, Joint secretary, Dr Madan Katoch and Dr Sangeeta Kotwal along with a team of 10 executive members. Meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Ranbhushan Singh.
