Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a BJP meeting here today, Dr Jitendra Singh said that world acknowledges PM Modi as global leader except Congress party which is prejudicial against him as its leaders are trying to find fault in the every welfare measure of PM.
He said the world is looking towards Modi as a global leader and praised him for giving COVID vaccine to 2.2 billion people, besides hailing his direct benefit transfer and other public welfare schemes but Congress leaders don’t digest the same and they indulge in criticising him and his policies.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that India has gained prestige among comity of nations which was being looked down upon up to 2014. Today India is emerging the fast developing economy of the world and it has surpassed Britain which ruled us for over 200 years. India has become the fifth economy of the world under Modi while Britain has been relegated from fifth to 10th place. “This can be said Modi’s magic and it hardly matters whether Congress accepts the facts or not”, he added.
Maintiang that Narendra Modi is Prime Minister of entire country including the Congress party, Dr Jitendra Singh said but Congress is violating the propriety of Constitution and democracy by refusing to acknowledge his leadership.
In reply to a question on Uniform Civil Code that Congress and other parties are opposing the move, Dr Jitendra Singh said that PM’s views are based on facts and logic.
Addressing the BJP activists, he said Ramban, a town known for protracted traffic jams and frequent landslides, has got a highway facelift with two new bridges and one flyover, and this has been possible because in the last 9 years under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, there has been equitable distribution of resources and hitherto rejected areas have received their due without consideration of vote bank, caste or creed.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that the Maitra Bridge had been a long standing demand of the people of Ramban but it was not taken up for consideration by erstwhile National Conference (NC) and Congress Governments. It was taken up only under the Modi Government and now dedicated to the public.
Similarly, the Minister said, the Jaswal bridge, being a very old bridge, had outlived its lifespan and turned risky for use. The issue was taken up with BRO chief Gen Rajiv Chaudhary and a new bridge was constructed in minimum possible time. This new bridge was kept on fastrack within a short span so that people do not suffer inconvenience, he said.
On the eve of the Amarnath Yatra, said Dr Jitendra Singh, the new flyover is also ready which will ease the traffic jams and considerably reduce the traffic between Jammu to Ramban and further to Srinagar.
Dr Jitendra Singh said ,on one side of Ramban is Asia’s longest tunnel Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee tunnel and on the other side is new Qazigund tunnel plus smaller tunnels.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, the work on National Highway beyond Ramban towards Srinagar is also proceeding on fast track with a series of tunnels on the way which would cut down the journey time.
The travel time from Jammu to Srinagar will be reduced to just around four hours, he said.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, it is left to the future historians and analysts to answer why in the last so many decades the entire Ramban region was allowed to languish and suffer because of lack of connectivity in spite of the fact some of the well known Ministers in the Central as well as State Governments were elected from this area. He said, it is our good fortune that all these pending works were destined to be accomplished in the last nine years when Narendra Modi was the Prime Minister and BJP represented this Lok Sabha constituency.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, earlier when Ramban was a part of the erstwhile district of Doda it happened to be located at the last end and therefore underwent neglect and later when a separate district was carved out , it was the last priority of the Congress and National Conference Governments . It is only because of the policy of justice for all and equitable development of every region that Ramban has been able to receive its due at par with the other developed areas, he said.
