“The team performed 14 complex cardiac surgeries in small children along-with heart surgeons of SKIMS. All the patients are doing well. The Chief Organizer of the workshop Dr Abdul Majeed Dar, Professor Pediatric Cardiac Surgery said that this workshop will go a long way in establishing a set-up of neonatal complex cardiac surgeries at SKIMS so these patients do not have to suffer outside the State, as the surgical skills for operating such patients are now available at SKIMS,” said the SKIMS spokesperson.
Director SKIMS and EOSG Professor Showkat Ali Zargar said that such activities are meant to establish complete set-up for managing these critically ill children at our own place who were otherwise suffering outside or most of them were not reaching to that state due to their high risk and costly surgeries for such complex cardiac defects.
