SAMBA, Mar 30: Post Graduate Department of Dogri, University of Jammu, organized one day skill development programme based on Dogra cultural heritage and to study flora of the region in collaboration with WWF at Baba Sidh Goria, Swankha, Samba district.
Dr Om Vidyarthi, Chief Conservator, Environment Ecology & Remote Sensing, J&K State, Jammu was the resource person. While interacting with the participants, he highlighted the religious, cultural and medicinal values of flora of the region. He also recited a few couplets of his book ‘Jangle ka Dard’ and shared his experience with the participants of the workshop.
Prof Parmeshwari Sharma, HoD Dogri, highlighted the importance and relevance of the workshop.
Prof Archana Kesar introduced the resource person with the participants of the workshop and said that the tree talk programme launched by Dr Vidyarthi is very commendable job to save the nature.
A few students and scholars also recited their poems in the workshop. They included Vijay Lakshmi, Poonam Kumari and Brahm Dutt.
Prof Shiv Dev Singh Manhas presented vote of thanks at the conclusion of the workshop.
The proceeding of the workshop was conducted by Dr Sushma Sharma. About 50 students and scholars participated in the workshop.
