JAMMU, Sept 27: FICCI FLO Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, in a collaborative effort with MIET, took a significant step towards creating safer work environments by organizing a comprehensive workshop on the “Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace.”
Held at MIET College, Kot Bhalwal (Jammu), the workshop was led by renowned facilitators Anuradha Gandhi, a DE&I and POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) certified expert and Managing Associate of SS Rana & Company along with her Junior Associate Isha Sharma. The event was graced by the presence of Monika Kohli, Senior Additional Advocate General of J&K, as chief guest.
Monika Kohli, in her address underscored the importance of this workshop in the legal and socio-economic context of the region. She emphasized the legal frameworks in place to protect women from workplace harassment and highlighted the critical role of organizations and individuals in creating a culture of respect and safety. Kohli’s insights shed light on the legal remedies available to victims and the responsibilities of employers to ensure safe workplaces.
Anuradha Gandhi spearheaded the workshop. Her extensive experience and deep knowledge in the field of workplace harassment prevention made her an ideal resource for imparting valuable insights. Working alongside Gandhi was her talented colleague, Isha Sharma. Their combined expertise brought a rich and comprehensive perspective to the workshop.
The participants expressed their appreciation for the workshop’s comprehensive content and the facilitators’ engaging presentation style. Many felt more equipped to address and prevent harassment in their workplaces, and they left with a renewed commitment to promoting safe, inclusive, and gender-sensitive environments.
Sexual harassment at the workplace is a pressing issue that affects countless women across the globe. It not only infringes upon an individual’s rights but also creates an unsafe and unhealthy work environment. By addressing this issue head-on, FICCI FLO JKL and MIET aimed to create awareness and equip attendees with the knowledge and tools to prevent such incidents from occurring.
