Workshop on ‘Network Security’ held at BGSBU

JAMMU, Sept 4: Department of Information Technology and Engineering (ITE), College of Engineering and Technology (COET) of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) organised one-day workshop on “Network Security”, in which students and teachers participated.
On the occasion, Dr Maninder Singh, Associate Prof and Head, CSED, Thapar University, Patiala was the guest speaker.
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof AK Koul, Dean Academic Affairs, who while speaking, emphasized for need of security in the present era.
Prof M Asger, Principal, COET, highlighted the importance of Network security and the growing demand for secure networks.
The Workshop was divided into four technical sessions namely Web identity, ARP Spoofing, DNS alterations and Buffer Overflow and debugging. 120 students and teachers attended the workshop.
Prof Irshad Ahmed Hamal, Vice Chancellor of the university ensured full support for similar programmes in future.
Earlier, Malik Mubasher Hasan, Head, Department of ITE, presented the welcome address, while, Manmeet Singh, workshop coordinator, presented vote of thanks.
MR Choudhary, Registrar and KK Dogra, Principal Polytechnic, were also present on the occasion.
