JAMMU, Apr 17: One day workshop on “International Humanitarian Law” was organized by The Law School, University of Jammu.
During the workshop, resource persons from the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) delivered lectures to the students.
Prof Arvind Jasrotia, Director of The Law School presented the welcome address.
Dr Anuradha Saibaba, Legal Advisor, Academic Programme, ICRC talked about the interface between International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law with reference to conflict situations.
Beata Skwarsa, Team Leader, ICRC threw light on the role and working of ICRC in international as well as non-international armed conflicts, whereas Rizwana from ICRC, Jammu Chapter apprised the students about the role ICRC was playing in J&K.
The lectures were followed by discussions and interactions with the students and faculty members.
The proceedings were co-ordinated by Dr Monica Narang and Dr Seema Sharma, Asstt Professors of The Law School.
