SAMBA, Oct 14: Civil Defence in collaboration with Government Degree College organized one day workshop on “HIV/AIDS Prevention Initiative”.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Sohan Lal Bhagat stressed upon the need of organizing such type of programmes in educational institutions to increase the awareness in the rural areas.
Dr Arpana Sharma delivered the lecture on the topic, whereas Dr Renu Rajput and Deputy Controller Sudershan Mehta highlighted the role of Civil Defence in dealing effectively with the natural and man made disasters.
Dr Sandhya, Coordinator of NSS Unit of the college, in her address threw light on the importance of Civil Defence and encouraged the students to enable the other members of the society to mitigate disasters.
On the occasion, 97 Civil Defence Certificate were distributed to those who took part in the 5 day Basic Training Camp.
