Workshop on ‘Emerging Technologies’ held at NIT

Srinagar, Sept 1: A workshop on ‘Emerging Technologies’ was today organized by Microsoft student team in collaboration with Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneur Development Centre (IIEDC) and Semicolon Coding Club of National Institute of Technology (NIT ) Srinagar.
The workshop was held in a semi-virtual manner, wherein some participants joined online and some offline at the NIT Srinagar campus.
Eminent speakers from the Industry and Academia including Dr Veningston K, Pushpreet Singh Sethi and Dr Shahid Mehraj Shah made students familiar with emerging technologies like Cloud, Azure, Github, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Game Theory, Microsoft 365, etc.
Director NIT Srinagar, Prof Rakesh Sehgal said the workshop was aimed to enhance the knowledge of the participants with emerging technologies in the market. “Our students should be familiar with prevailing technological trends and NIT Srinagar will be organizing such events in the future also,” he said.
Registrar NIT, Prof Kaiser Bukhari appreciated the organizers for organizing a workshop on relevant them and stated that such topics are the need of the hour for all-around development.
Earlier, the inaugural session of the workshop was hosted by Tajamul Ashraf, the Student Learn Ambassador of Microsoft for NIT Srinagar, with a session on ‘Microsoft 365 – Technology on your Tips’ in which he discussed Microsoft 365, its advantages, features, and interface.
In the workshop, students were made familiar with the basic concepts and practices of Machine Learning and the concepts of Game Theory. The event was also live-streamed on the official YouTube channel of NIT Srinagar.
