JAMMU, Jan 11: A one day State level workshop on ‘Introduction to Structural Equation Modelling using Analysis of Moment Structure’ was organized by Govt SPMR College of Commerce here today.
Shankar M.M Mentor, Research and Training, CEO CARES, Bengaluru delivered four technical sessions in the workshop.
Prof. (Dr) Neetu Andotra, Dean Business Studies, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest whereas Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, Dean Social Science, Cluster University of Jammu was the Guest of Honour.
Prof. (Dr) Anil Gupta, Principal, Govt SPMR College of Commerce presided over the workshop.
In his welcome address, Prof. Gupta emphasized upon the importance of research and succinctly stated that research is not the exclusive preserve of the chosen few.
Prof Neetu Andotra enlightened the august and diverse group of participants including research scholars, academicians and other participants.
Dr. Himani Arora, Organising Secretary while presenting the vote of thanks mentioned that the deliberations in this workshop would certainly help in initiating the research projects using SEM.
The members of the Advisory Committee present for the sessions were Prof. Neeru Bhalla, Prof. Barbara Koul, Prof. Archana Kaul, Dr. Sandhaya Bhardawaj, Prof. Savita Jamwal, Prof. Neeraj Sharma and Prof. Shri Kant Sharma.
The other faculty members who were present included Prof. Kiran Gupta, Dr. Monika Malhotra, Dr. Lalit Kumar Gaind and Rohit Thakur provided technical support for the smooth functioning of the workshop.
In the valedictory session, Prof. Bharti Salathia presented the report of all the four technical sessions laying emphasis on the various aspects of research methodology namely, role of theory in model specification, introduction to AMOS, and basic understanding of EFA, CFA and Path Model.
