RAJOURI, Nov 30: Rajouri Police today smashed a working still being used for manufacturing of hooch in forest area of Narian Batala Top and seized 65 litres of illicit liquor besides destroying around 800 litres of lahaan.
Acting on an information, a Police team from Chingus Chatyar Police Post, headed by SI Ashish Chowdhary, under the supervision of SHO Rajouri Sameer Jillani, raided the forest area in Batala Top near Narian.
Before the Police team could reach the spot, the accused bootlegger managed to escape taking advantage of darkness. The Police team smashed the still and destroyed the lahaan.
Police seized 65 liters of prepared hooch and registered a case in this connection under relevant sections of Excise Act.
