The presumed purpose of Relief Organisation Migrants created more than two decades back was to ensure proper relief of sorts to the displaced Kashmiri Migrants due to unfortunate prolonged turmoil in the Valley, due to which Kashmiri Pandits in particular and other targeted persons in general had to leave the Valley. It has to be admitted that relief of sorts has been provided to the migrants which includes cash relief as well from time to time, but with pain and distress which is most of the times unexplainable. Ever since its creation the working in this organization has never coped up with time and has remained always state and obstructing rather than an encouraging one. The Governments both that of the State as also the Central Government have always tried and cherished to ameliorate the lot of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits, now known as migrants, in providing sops of sorts to the extent possible, but the same could not or does not trickle down to the needy and the deserving, properly and with ease, due to the vested interests working in that organization.
It is pertinent to mention here that, that Visa from an embassy can be had just within a period of just 10 days time, with warm comfort and dignity, but to get a simple replacement of a torn out ration card, is not possible even in a month’s time and that too after visiting the relief organization almost ten times in a months time.
