While saying that the concerned authorities are telling them that their issues will be resolved soon, the workers said that nobody is taking them seriously. “We have not seen any official from the concerned agency since August and every time we approach them, they tell us that things will be resolved soon,” he said.
The workers have written letters to Deputy Commissioner, Labour Officer and other officials, however, they have not heard anything from anyone so far.
Another worker said that the concerned agency ‘Simplex’ has just disappeared from the scene since August.”We have been just caught in the middle and no body taking any cognizance of the issue,” said Manzoor Ahmad Wani.
The workers are asking that if the ERA is releasing funds to the Simplex and other concerned agencies, “why are not our wages being released.”
The workers have demanded that higher-ups to intervene into the issue and get their wages released so that they could restart the work on the flyover. “We have shut the work and will not start work unless our wages are not released; at the same time we appeal the concerned to do the needful,” they said.
