Workers discuss measures to strengthen Cong

VIJAYPUR, May 25: A meeting of Congress workers and delegates was held at Vijaypur under the leadership of PCC member and senior party leader Arun Sharma, for discussing the measures for strengthening Congress in Vijaypur constituency.
The meeting was attended by the workers of block Purmandal and Vijaypur, who also highlighted various local issues seeking immediate attention of the party leadership.
Arun Sharma, in his address, exhorted upon the party workers to work hard for  strengthening Congress at grass root level for its success in the forthcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
He claimed that despite public support, the party lost Assembly elections thrice in Vijaypur constituency due to groupism and giving mandate to non-local candidate. He stressed that the party was very serious about Vijaypur constituency where the people have suffered a lot since last 24 years.
During the meeting, workers and delegates passed a resolution urging the party high command to give mandate to a person of clean image, local and true loyalist of Congress.
In the resolution, Congress workers also appealed the party high command to declare Ghulam Nabi Azad as the Chief Ministerial candidate ahead of State Assembly elections.
Others who addressed the meeting, included, Dr  Chajju Ram, Bishamber Singh Slathia, Capt  Baldev, Capt  Bhola, Subedar Sagar Singh, Baisakhi Ram, Dev Raj, Ramesh Choudhary, Sardari Lal Verma, Gulshan Lal, Bashir Ahmed, Mohd Yousuf, Sumiter Singh, Tejpal Singh, Gulab Singh, Subash Mahasha, Suresh Verma, Kuldeep Gupta, Satish Gupta and    Som Sharma.
