Work on AIIMS road to begin next month: Ganga

SAMBA, Mar 31: The Minster for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today announced the construction of road from Raya Morh to Suchani via Central University and said with its construction long pending demand of the people of the area will be solved.
Addressing a public meeting at Vijaypur today, the Minister said the road has been sanctioned and work will be started soon. He said four-lanning of Utterbeni to Purmandal road will also be taken up in hand as the same is also in pipeline.
He said Rs 200 crore have been sanctioned for construction of road to AIIMS in Samba and work on it will be started next month. He said the present Government is committed to overall development of the State and many new projects and schemes have been sanctioned for Samba and Kathua districts which will benefit a large number of people.
The Minister assured the people that a park will be constructed behind the Laxmi Narayan temple near canal in Vijaypur as it is a long pending demand of the people of the area.
Earlier the people of the area demanded construction of the park and installation of 10 mva transformer in Vijaypur to solve the power problem in the area.
Warning the Gunda-elements Ganga said PDP-BJP coalition will not allow any highhandedness of the Gunda elements and rule of law will prevail in the State. He also warned the officers and said no compromise will be made on developmental works and the officers indulging in corrupt practices will be shown the door.
Ganga asked officers to maintain transparency in construction works and appealed the Party activists to remain a watch dog so that the public funds are not misused.
The meeting was among others addressed by Sandeep Gupta, City president BJP, Manohar Lal Sharma, Keeshaw Dutt Sharma and Som Dutt Verma.
