Women police cell inaugurated

SRINAGAR,  May 7: Police in South Kashmir’s Shopian district today inaugurated a women police cell in the premises of police station Shopian, today, a police spokesman said here.
He said the women cell is housed in a separate building and would look after complaints regarding women.  “SSP Shopian Dr Shailendra Mishra while addressing the gathering stressed on the need for women to come forward and seek redresal of their grievances,” said the spokesman.
The complaints will be received by female staff who would patiently listen and redress their grievance, he said, adding that the cell was inaugurated by a student from Girls Higher Secondary School, Shopian. “Large number of female participants from all walks of life attended and appreciated the event,” the spokesman added.
