Women emerging as powerful voice in socio-political sphere: Vakil

SOPORE, Mar 19: Former minister and senior leader of J&K Peoples Conference Abdul Gani Vakil said that women must emerge as a powerful voice in the socio-political sphere of J&K saying Peoples Conference is committed to encourage active and meaningful participation of women to address the challenges that have an impact on them and their future.
Addressing a women’s convention at Warpora in Sopore today Vakil said, “There is a dire need of ensuring greater participation of women in political set up of Jammu and Kashmir. It is imperative for women to have their voices heard and become partners in the decision-making process,” he said.
“PC takes cognizance of the issues and hardships faced by the women in getting their voices heard. Our party will do everything to encourage women participation and create spaces for them to take the mantle of responsibility to shape a brighter future for the coming generations”, Vakil added.
Vakil stressed on women folk not to suffer from inferiority complex, adding, it has been seen that women have more potential and capability as compared to men. “We always see woman dominating men in every field especially educational field and even in the political field also women are not lagging behind,” Vakil said.
