JAMMU, May 10: National Awami United Party (NAUP) general secretary (women wing), Shikha Bandral today flayed the authorities for delaying Pink Bus service in Jammu.
“People of Jammu never expected step motherly treatment after the abrogation of Article 370 but the same has happened as the Pink Bus service has been started in Kashmir while the administration is still awaiting order from the top brass in this regard for Jammu,” the NAUP leader said while addressing a press conference.
She said that PDP government during its tenure had started Pink Bus service for women of Jammu and Srinagar cities in 2016 but unfortunately LG administration stopped this service without any reason.
“There will be a drop in crime against women if Pink Bus service commences in Jammu and it will help college and school going girls and working women,” the NAUP leader continued adding that the administration should also start Pink auto, rickshaw and taxi service for women keeping in view increasing cases of chain snatching in Jammu.
Bandral also demanded the start of Ola-Uber taxi service in J&K well before G-20 meeting.
Anita Devi, Devo Devi, Neetu Rani, Geeta Devi, Satya Devi, Baby Devi and Ashishu Koul were also present on the occasion.
