POONCH, Dec 20: The dead body of a missing young woman was recovered from the forest area in Kanuyian village in district Poonch today.
A police spokesman said that woman was missing for the last two days and the family had lodged a missing report in this connection. A villager noticed the body lying near a Nallah in forest area of the village and informed family and the police at Poonch.
The police party rushed to the area and examined the spot and found violence marks on her body. Her throat was also found slit.
The body was shifted for postmortem to hospital and later handed over to the family.
She was identified as Shakeela Akhtar ( 27). The police has registered a case in this connection and started investigation. Her one close relative has been detained by police for questioning.
