JAMMU, May 28: A 28-year-old woman was allegedly strangulated to death by her husband over some pending family dispute at Nanak Nagar area here last evening, officials said.
Mother of two children, the deceased has been identified as Aarti alias Savita wife of Kamlesh of Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, presently residing at Sector 10, Nanak Nagar, Jammu.
Officials said the dispute erupted over some personal allegations and counter-allegations against each other last evening and escalated to the extent that Kamlesh allegedly strangulated his wife to death.

Immediately after the incident, a police team arrived at the crime scene and shifted the body to the mortuary of the Government Medical College Jammu for conducting the post-mortem examination.
A case FIR number 116/2026 under section 103 BNS has also been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and further investigation has been set into the motion, officials said.
The accused had not been arrested at the time of filing of this report.
