SAMBA, Dec 19: One lady died while her son was seriously injured after a speedy truck hit them at near Diyani in Samba village.
She has been identified as Shukantala Devi, 65, wife of Raghunath of village Diyani in Samba district. Her 32 year old son who was seriously injured has been identified as Jewel Kumar. He has been rushed to GMC Jammu in a critical condition.
According to SHO Samba, Ravinder Singh Parihar the mother son duo was crossing the National Highway when they were hit by a speedy truck bearing registration number JK02 AK 8645. He said Shukuntala died on spot as she was crushed by the truck.
Parihar said that driver of the truck was arrested and the vehicle has been seized by the Police. He said a case under relevant sections of the law was registered against the driver.
