JAMMU, Apr 30: A woman was charred to death while her three-month old female baby received serious burn injuries in a fire mishap in Purkhoo area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a woman identified as Badhumpti (28) wife of Bullet Shah, a resident of Bihar, at present residing in a vacant shop in Purkhoo area was charred to death while her three-year-old female baby suffered serious burn injuries, when a mysterious fire broke out this morning at their residence.
“The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for post mortem while the grievously injured baby is under treatment in the hospital”, the spokesman said, adding a case in this connection was registered at police station Kanachak and further investigations were underway.
