Woman killed, 8 injured in mishap

KISHTWAR, Jan 8: A lady was killed and eight others received injuries, when the Tata Sumo, they were traveling in, rolled down into a gorge near Madibalan Margan Top here this afternoon.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK17-0164 was on its way from Marwah to Matigawran, when the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle plunged into gorge near Madibalan Margan Top, resulting into death of a lady and injuries to eight others. The accident took place due to negligent driving.
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot and retrieved the dead body of the lady and rescued the injured persons.
The dead body of the lady and injured were shifted to Public Health Centre (PHC) Larnoo. The condition of the injured was stated to be out of danger, when reports last came in.
The body of the deceased identified as Fatha Begum, wife of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Dund Marwah was handed over to her family members after completing legal formalities.
The injured have been identified as Abdul Ahad, son of Fata Najar of Satarwagan, Mohammad Amin, son of Ali Jamal of Yurdoo, Manzoor Ahmed, son of Ghulam Rasool of Pethgaam, Imtiyaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Jabbar of Astangham, Mubeena, wife of Imtiyaz Ahmed of Astangham, Farooq Ahmad, son of Qayoom Malik of Qaderna, Mohammad Ramzan of Dund Marwah and Masood Ahmad (driver) of Chatroo.
A case under FIR number 1/15 under Sections 279, 337 and 304 RPC has been registered at police station Warwan and investigation started.
