Srinagar, Dec 30 : A woman was killed and seven other passengers suffered injuries after a passenger cab rolled down into a deep gorge along Srinagar-Jammu highway near Zig this afternoon.

A ‘Xylo’ (UP23HL 6527) on way from Jammu towards Srinagar through Jawahar tunnel rolled down into a deep gorge at Gutigund Verinag near Zig post, resulting in injuries to eight persons.
The injured persons were evacuated to a hospital at Qazigund, where one Sheeba Iraqi of Uttar Pradesh was declared dead.
Among the injured, two have been referred to DH Anantnag for treatment.
In another road mishap, a pedestrian was killed after hit by a Tavera driver at Kunzer Tangmarg in Baramulla district today.
One Tawsef Ahmad Khan, son of Ghulam Ahmad Khan of Tarhama Kunzer was hit by a Tavera bearing registration number JK05C 6672, resulting in critical injuries to the individual.
He was shifted from the spot to PHC Kunzer, where the doctors declared him as brought dead.
The police arrested the erring driver and registered a case.
