Woman killed, 5 injured in road mishaps

SRINAGAR, Dec 27: A woman was killed and five others were injured in different road accidents in the Valley.
A police spokesman said a mini truck (JK05 -4049) turned upside down near Trungund Crossing in Sopore, resulting in injuries to two persons who were traveling in the vehicle. The injured were identified as Hajra Begum wife of Ghulam Hassan Malik of Achabal, Sopore and Bashir Ahmad Dar son of Late Mohammad Abdullah Dar of Aloosa, Bandipora.
The spokesman said both the injured were shifted to hospital where Hajra Begum succumbed to her injuries.
A woman, Shah Begum, aged 50, wife of Abdul Jabbar of Tekipora was injured when a WagonR JK04-4939 driven by Nazir Ahmad Khan son of Painda Khan of Dewar, Kupwara hit and injured her.  The spokesman said she was hospitalized.
A Sumo JK05-9147 hit and injured a pedestrian Abdul Aziz Watoo aged 50, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Chogal, Handwara. The injured was referred to Srinagar for treatment.
Two persons were injured when a Swift Car JK01S-7497 hit a motorcycle at Mughal-Darbar, Srinagar.
The injured were identified as Mohammad Amin Dar son of Late Abdul Aziz Dar of Gousia Colony, Chanpora, Srinagar and Syed Tajamul Hussain Qazmi son of Bashir Ahmad of Qazipora Boniyar, Uri.
The spokesman said police has filed cases in these accidents.
