JAMMU, Oct 16: A woman was injured late last night in an accidental gunshot in Pallanwala area of city outskirts.
According to Sub Inspector Ajeet Singh, Incharge, police post Pallanwala, a woman identified as Anita Devi (45) wife of Kali Ram, a resident of Pallanwala, received a gun shot in her abdomen when during a marriage function a licensed revolver of an unknown person goes off accidentally after it slipped from his hands and fell on the ground.
“The injured woman was immediately rushed to Government Hospital, Jourian, from where she was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu”, the officer said, adding the woman was responding to the treatment.
He said that a case under relevant sections has been registered and investigations started into the incident.
