POONCH, May 3: A woman allegedly hanged self to death at her residence in Surankote area of district Poonch today.
The police said the deceased, indentified as Ulfat Bi (35), wife of Mohd Bashir, resident of village Kullian in Hari Budha ( Surankote) was found hanging from the central large wooden log of her house in a room with the rope. A family member noticed this and raised alarm. All of them rushed to the room. Some neighbours also rushed towards their house after coming to known about the matter.
She was removed from the noose and locals informed police. The police examined the spot and removed the body for postmortem. The cause of this extreme step is being ascertained. The police has registered a case for investigation.
