SRINAGAR, Aug 11: A woman died on Sunday after being chased by a pack of stray dogs in Sopore town of Baramulla district.
Zamrooda Bano wife of Prof. G M Bhat of Amargarh, Sopore, was travelling with her son on a motorcycle when a group of canines attacked them on the highway, said Haji Mohammad Ahsraf, President Traders Federation Sopore.
Zamrooda, who was trying to save herself from the stray dogs, lost her balance on the bike and fell on the ground. She was removed to the Sub-District Hospital, Sopore with serious injuries.
Ashraf said she was rushed to SMHS but doctors declared her brought dead.
The tragic death of the woman triggered strong protests against the Municipal Council Sopore.
The traders’ body blamed the civic body for failing to ensure safety of the locals from attacks of canines.
