Woman dies, 9 injured in mishaps

Srinagar Dec 24: A woman died and nine others were injured in different road mishaps across the Kashmir valley today.
Police said a Tata Sumo JK09/5767 on way from Kupwara to Srinagar hit and injured Taja Begum wife of Mehad Ganie, Tawseef Rashid Ganie son of Abdul Rashid and Rehana Bano daughter of Abdul Rashid residents of Poshnag at Hamray on the National Highway in Pattan.
All the injured have been shifted to Sub District Hospital, Pattan for treatment. However, Taja Begum succumbed to her injures on way to the hospital. A case has been registered in this regard. The driver fled away from the spot.
Police said a Sumo JK03B/8530 turned turtle at Nowpora, Anantnag resulting in injuries to four passengers. All the injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment.
A Tavera JK03C/1759 driven by Showkat Ahmad Matoo on way from Anantnag to Larkipora skidded off the road near Dialgam, Anantnag, resulting in injuries to two passengers Ghulam Rasool Mir son of Habibullah and his wife Zareefa residents of Rang Paristan Rainawari, Srinagar.
A TATA 407 vehicle bearing registration number JK09/0855 hit and injured Bashir Ahmad Mir son of Habibullah resident of Geeripora at Geeripora Magam, Handwara. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital, Handwara for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
