JAMMU, July 30: A woman allegedly committed suicide in Gharota area while another woman died due to electrocution in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kanachak.
“A young woman namely Priyanka Jamwal (27) wife of Deepak Singh, resident of Thathi (Gharota) allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her residence,” Police sources said. They said the woman was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where she was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
Meanwhile, a woman identified as Geeta Devi (35) wife of Ashok Kumar, resident of Kangrail (tehsil Bhalwal) suffered a severe electric shock from the set-up box of the Television at her home. She was rushed to Sub District Hospital Bhalwal, from where she was referred to GMCH Jammu but she was declared as brought dead there.
In both cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
