Woman beaten up by jawans, hospitalised

RAJOURI, Apr 22: A middle-aged woman and her 14-year-old son, were hospitalized after they were allegedly beaten up by some jawans of TA Battalion in Mandir Galla area of Kotranka this afternoon.
The police has taken cognizance on the complaint of the victim’s family and investigation started. Police said that a camp has been set up by Army (TA Bn) on the land of Jagir Singh at Mandir Galla. On the issue of grazing cattle, the Varita Devi, wife of farmer Jagir Singh was allegedly beaten up by some TA Battalion soldiers. Her 14-year old son Rajiv, who came to the rescue of mother was also beaten up with rifle butts.
Later, the villagers gathered there and shifted the injured to Kotranka hospital. They also lodged a written complaint against the soldiers involved in beating up woman.
