RAJOURI, Feb 17: Under the direct supervision of Excise Commissioner T Angchuk, Excise sleuth smashed illegal liquor bends and arrested a woman among three bootleggers, here today.
The sleuths of Excise Range Rajouri, led by Mohd Pervaiz, Excise Inspector, under the supervision of Farooq Chowdhary, Excise & Taxation Officer, Excise Range Rajouri-Poonch, conducted series of raids at village Potha, Sailsui, Khargala, Jigni, Kothian, Birma Jigni of Kalakote tehsil, Mandir Gala, Sakri, Dhar Sakri, Peeri and other areas of Rajouri district.
During the course of raids, three persons were arrested and booked under J&K Excise Act 1958 for possessing illicit liquor. The arrested persons were identified as Kamal Singh of Dhar Sakri, Som Raj of Jigni and Neelam Devi of Jigni.
430 kg of Lahan and 45 liters of illicit liquor was seized and destroyed on the spot.
