‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ star David Henrie arrested for possession of loaded gun

LOS ANGELES, Sept 11: Actor David Henrie, best known for his role in Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place”, was arrested Monday at Los Angeles International Airport for possession of a loaded handgun.
According to Variety, Henrie was arrested at about 9:05 am on Monday at Terminal 2 at LAX after Transportation Security Administration officers went through his baggage and found the firearm.
He was booked into Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division Jail and has since been released with a court date.
Henrie apologised in a statement on Twitter. He said he “unintentionally” brought his gun, which he legally owns and is registered to his name.
“I am so sorry for any trouble it caused but I am appreciative of TSA’s efforts in implementing the safety laws that are in place to protect our beautiful country. More than anything I am humiliated and embarrassed that this even happened,” he wrote.
In “Wizards of Waverly Place”, Henrie played Selena Gomez’s brother. The show ended in 2012. (PTI)
